Julia Roberts to perform yagya
Hollywood star Julia Roberts will shoot for her upcoming movie Eat, Pray, Love at the ashram in Pataudi. The Ashram named Hari Mandir Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya is far away from New Delhi and was always an unusual spot to visit, but due to Julia’s current connection to the place it has became a hotspot now a days. Some temporary sets are built for the film at the ashram. However the main area where the film will be shot is the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir. The temple has given a new pink look.
Revealing more about the film shoot, the principal of the school, Swami Charan Sharma said, “A huge, temporary wooden entrance has been set up just outside the real one. The Laxmi Narayan Mandir is the main shooting area. A wooden extension has been erected at the Krishna Niwas on the first floor, which is painted in pink. A small, white mandir in marble finish has been erected at the Atithi Niwas, and a few scenes will be shot there as well. One scene will be shot at the Yagyashala, which will feature five Indian sadhus who will perform the yagya. Swami Dharam Dev and I may be playing two of those roles.”
The head of the ashram, Swami Dharam Dev said, “Ashram mein abhi toh bahut hulchul ho rahi hai. Bachchon ki chhutti ho gayi hai to itna problem nahin hai. It’s a great thing, you know — Julia will chant 182 shlokas in Sankrit for the shoot at the ashram. She’s already got them written in English and I hear she’s been rehearsing them.”
The area is covered well by the security personals. A member from production house said, “We haven’t hired any bouncers — we don’t trust them. The Haryana Police have taken care of the security arrangements. Art director Charley Beal was in India with his team to set up the sets three weeks ago. Those have just been cleaned up.”
The team will shoot at the ashram for 20 days which is already started from yesterday. However actress Julia Roberts is staying in well furnished Pataudi house. She is very particular about the shooting schedule, but don’t like to affect her family commitments also. After the shoot she doesn’t even meet the director of the film and spends it entirely with her family of three kids.
